Our dogs enjoy hiking, cross country
skiing, mountain biking, and swimming on
both their own property and acres of
nearby state land. In the summer, you will
most likely find us at our family's camp on
Warners Lake. The dogs never tire of
water sports or rides in the canoe.
Winter time brings skiing and chasing Joe
on the snowmobile.
The dogs are always ready to ride in the
car or jump in the Gator to visit the
neighbors.
Our dogs are fed a grain free, species
appropriate diet to keep them in top
shape for competition.
The Hovis attend obedience classes at
the local obedience club, and also take
tracking instruction weekly.

Helderberg Hovawarts opposes AKC recognition for our beautiful,
healthy, rare breed. AKC prohibits breed clubs from requiring health
clearances or temperament testing prior to breeding. I believe the
only way to breed healthy, mentally sound dogs is by breeding only
dogs that have passed all required health and temperament tests.
